Before we begin the real meat of this post:
If you ever see the market drop around triple digits for a given day and the mainstream news excuse is the dramatically falling Nikkei stock market of Japan, please understand this is a perfect example of media bullshit.
Last night their market plunged about 844 pts or 6.35% drop..
And today, we couldn't have cared one bit -we're up 86pts as of this writing..
Seems unimportant to most but always important to show the sincere disconnect between the US and global markets even though finance news tends to simplify things as if we're all inter-connected in this one-world new order...
OK.. onto other things..
The big question people tend to ask when concerning the media and politics is how objective are they when covering the President.. or really any President.
Is there a fawning bias? Or one that is hostile?
And if you ask Conservatives, they will most definitely say there is one that allows the President to get away with murder, and if you ask Liberals, they'll point to Fox News and say if there's any bias, its aggressive borderline hidden-racist...
We believe bias is everywhere and no matter how a journalist or reporter may pretend to be objective and 'fair', in truth, anyone who gravitates to this profession doesn't do so to be wealthy.
Someone usually entered journalism because of either idealized motivations of seeking out 'justice' and 'truth', or because they have a passion for politics and over time have formulated strong ideological beliefs.
We believe most in the media is liberal.
But that's fine.
Since both parties pretty much are bought and paid for by the same special interests, and those in office are usually of a lower moral and ethical caliber than the people paid to cover them, then ultimately what does it matter...
What bothers us is the incestuousness nature of media and politics.. Specifically where spouse or family members are connected highly in both the media empire and the White House.
For instance, we don't really care that CBS President Les Moonves' wife is Julie Chen who hosts CBS' Big Brother and co-hosts their 'The View' copycat show 'The Talk'. Beyond the fact, Chen has a guaranteed job w CBS forever, it means nothing in the grand scheme...
And we don't care anymore that MSNBC news journalist Andrea Mitchell is married to former Fed Chair Alan Greenspan. It certainly bothered us when the decrepit, evil Bleep was in power and making decisions that brought upon the 2008 crash while the news media barely ever had an anti-Fed news item on TV or print..
And everyone always thought it was funny or 'cute' how uber-liberal James Carville, one of the brilliant masterminds behind getting President Clinton elected in 1992 is married to uber-conservative Mary Matalin who worked for George Bush 41 and assisted him in his '92 failed re-election campaign.
But now there's a new generation of incest...
* ABC News President Ben Sherwood, is the brother of Elizabeth Sherwood-Randall, a top national-security adviser to President Obama.
* CBS News President David Rhodes, is the brother of Benjamin Rhodes, a key foreign-policy specialist.
* CNN’s deputy Washington bureau chief, Virginia Moseley, is married to Tom Nides, who until earlier this year was deputy secretary of state under Hillary Rodham Clinton.
* White House press secretary Jay Carney’s wife is Claire Shipman, a veteran reporter for ABC.
* NPR’s White House correspondent, Ari Shapiro's long-time lover is lawyer, Michael Gottlieb, who joined the White House counsel’s office in April.
Some may care and go 'Wow'.. others may shrug and think its one of those 'making mountains out of molehills'... We just find it all so... for lack of a more eloquent, intellectual word, Ikky!
We're not implying anything illegal or deviant is occurring. As for the word 'unethical', you decide for yourself..
But lets just say if we were gamblers, we'd heavily wager that the ideological 'apple' does not fall far from the tree in these relationships, and leave it at that.
We don't trust or like the mainstream media to begin with.. everything they do is with political bias or more disturbingly, economic self-interest.
The fact that tens of millions of people actually believe we're in an economic recovery and feel contented about their lives, is testament enough to the damage they've inflicted upon the masses so their corporate shares wouldn't continue to plummet..
When you think of Washington DC, think of the famous 'Oz' of 'Wizard of Oz' fame.. A world few really know or understand, and with quite a lot of 'curtains'
